ABOUT 10 000 GUYANESE are living in Barbados, says president of the Guyanese Association of Barbados Inc., Rick Singh.

“There are all kinds of speculation as to the amount of Guyanese living in Barbados, but I estimate the number to be about 10 000,” he said as the association launched celebrations on Errol Barrow Day to mark Guyana’s 50th independence anniversary at Goshen-Pine, Pine Plantation Road, St Michael.

Singh said there was not as much “friction” between Guyanese here and Barbadians as in the early part of the century.
