Air of protest
WORKERS AT Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) are taking their anger at not receiving monies due to the pavement tomorrow.
Coming out of a meeting with the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), which ran for just over an hour yesterday afternoon, some workers said a two-hour protest was planned for the car park between noon and 2 p.m.
Shop steward for ten years, Deborah Archer, said she and the others were ready to demonstrate because they wanted to be paid the 3.5 per cent owed from a 7.5 pay increase agreed to during negotiations in 2010. Workers have already received the first four per cent from that agreement.
