Firm grip on things

BUSINESS MAGNATE Ralph “Bizzy” Williams may have been upset over the mention of Barbados as “the freest black nation in the world” and the lack of acknowledgement of the contribution of white Barbadians, during the recent launch of celebrations for the island’s 50th anniversary of Independence.

However, yesterday Williams (right) had a firm handshake and a warm smile for Prime Minister Freundel Stuart when the two met at the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s first luncheon for the year at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

The Prime Minister went on in his address to praise this country’s private sector for its continuing role in the development of Barbados.
