Family returns home to a wreck

MYSTERY SURROUNDS the partial dismantling and ransacking of the home of a St Michael woman.

Grace Bayley, of Kew Road, Tudor Bridge, said she suspected initially that marshals might have been attempting to enforce an eviction order but she was now not one hundred per cent sure.

The house was broken into, part of the verandah stripped away and the contents of the home thrown outside in a manner that Bayley and her daughter Reane said resembled more a robbery than a court-ordered dismantling.

In any case, Bayley, who is in her 50s, said there was a stay of execution in the Supreme Court against any move to get her off the land.
