Fed up neighbours

RESIDENTS OF Hannay’s Tenantry, Christ Church, have had enough of a local business in the area.

However, chief executive officer of under-fire Owlie’s Trucking and Bobcat Services, Ricky Alkins, said he is complying with all the court orders and is not doing anything to annoy his neighbours.

The WEEKEND NATION visited Bernard Hunte, a justice of the peace who lives opposite Alkins, who has a workshop built on to his home. Hunte said noise from the workshop kept them awake and the fumes from spray painting had affected both his health and his children’s.

“This business should not be here because this is a residential area,” he said. “I have written the Ombudsman, the Ministry of Health, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD), Town and Country, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Solicitor General’s office and more and still nothing is happening.
