Fogging Schedule February 1 to 5

THE VECTOR CONTROL UNIT of the Ministry of Health continues its fogging programme next week aimed at controlling the Aedes Aegypti mosquito population.

On Monday: The team will be in St Michael, where the Bridgetown Port, Princess Alice Highway, Harbour Road, Fontabelle and the environs will be fogged.

On Tuesday: They will return to St Michael and also visit St James, fogging Pleasant View, University Drive with Avenues, Wanstead Drive, Wanstead Terrace with Avenues, Rose Drive, Fitts Village, Risk Road and Berbice. The team will also visit Johnson Road, Prospect, Prospect Road, Crusher Site Road, Walmer Lodge, University Hill, Paradise Heights and the surrounding areas.

On Wednesday: Districts in St Andrew, St Joseph and St Michael will be sprayed, including Cambridge, Chalky Mount, Coggins Hill, Cane Garden, My Lord’s Hill, Jones Road, Licorish Village with Avenues and Odessa McClean Drive.

On Thursday: Areas in Christ Church to be targeted are Newton Terrace with Avenues, Lodge Road, Ashby Land, Durants Development, Evergreen Road, Windy Ridge, Church Hill Development and the environs. Fogging will also be carried out on that date in Wotton, Wotton Housing Area, Best Road, Venus Drive, Water Street, Butler’s Avenue, Plumgrove, Wilson Village and neighbouring districts.

On Friday: The team will be in St Michael and St Thomas, spraying Bush Hall Road, Military Road, Bush Hall Yard Gap, Pioneer Road, Stadium Road, Bow Road, Spooner’s Hill, Paradise Road, Syndicate Road, Ocean View Road, Perfection Road, Accommodation Road and the environs. The exercise will continue in Arthur Seat, Browns Gap, Jackson, Edgehill Terrace, Melrose, Downes Gap and surrounding areas.

Fogging will be carried out from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. daily and householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Persons with respiratory problems are advised to protect themselves and children should not be allowed to play in the fog. (BGIS)
