Crooks faking licence discs

SOME MOTORISTS are finding different ways to flout the law.

Police say they have seen an increase in motorists’ disregard for having proper articles of registration for their vehicles. 

Sergeant Seibert Johnson of the Traffic Division of the Royal Barbados Police Force said this posed a problem for law enforcement officers.

“We have discovered some persons are scanning their old discs, which are affixed to their vehicles, making new discs and placing them on their cars,” he said, giving an example of flouting of the rules.

“When we check the plates, we realise that the number plates are fraudulent and the vehicles were never registered with the Ministry of Transport and Works. (RA)
