Nation pitching in with funds
NATION PUBLISHING COMPANY has announced that it will be making a financial donation directly to the Taitt family, and will also be launching a fundraising drive to help raise much-needed additional funds.
The money raised will go towards immigration and other relocation costs, as well as to help with a sustainable rehabilitative programme for the children.
Head of Marketing and Communication of the Nation Group, Valerie Hope, said: “These children went through a lot. They were abused, emotionally, sexually and physically.
“The family needs urgent assistance to make the necessary applications for residency in the UK. We also want to ensure that the children are all comfortably situated and receive the necessary counselling, to ensure that their stay on a path of healing and recovery.
“As such we will be putting systems in place to allow Barbadians to effectively make donations to the family. We encourage all Barbadians to open their hearts and wallets to ensure these young children a very happy ending to a terrible story. ”
From Tuesday, Barbadians anywhere in the world will be able to donate money to the Taitt family using the crowdfunding site Pitchandchoose.com.
This site is dedicated solely to Caribbean-based causes and the public can be assured that the Taitt family will receive the funds donated.
They simply have to visit the home page, select the campaign entitled Rescued From Hell! Help These Victims Of Child Abuse” and make their donation using a credit card.
Nation Publishing will also work with the family to set up a local bank account to allow any potential benefactors living in Barbados to make cash deposits. (PR)
