BROTHERS ANTONIO AND ARLOND ATWELL whispered to each other in the Holetown Magistrates Court earlier this afternoon, before being remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison at Dodds, St Philip.

Antonio, 19 years old, and his elder sibling, 22, were remanded until March 8 by Magistrate Wanda Blair, after appearing on the indictable charge of murdering Travis Austin, on February 4.

The brothers, both of 3J Culvert Terrace, Haynesville, St James, sat in court for almost ten minutes chatting under their breath before their attorney-at-law Verla Depeiza arrived for their arraignment.

They were subsequently taken to Dodds by police vehicles just before 2 p.m., as the transportation bus provided by the Barbados Prison Service had already returned to the correctional facility in St Philip for the day.

The body of Austin, 24, of Prior Park, St James was discovered by neighbours last Thursday night minutes after an altercation in Central Close, Haynesville. (BA)
