Garden tribute to The Rock

ONE LOOK AT Everton Hunte’s front yard will tell you how much he loves Barbados.
He has a makeshift lawn ornament in the shape of the island – which he said even had some of the hills in the right places – a wishing well and a palm tree, all decorated in blue, yellow and black and proudly displayed for all to see.
The WEEKEND NATION took a trip out to Hunte’s Ruby Park, St Philip home to capture the sight and hear his story. The former Ministry of Agriculture worker said it started as a happy coincidence – or maybe something more.
“I’m trained in agriculture so I do my own landscaping, though I’m in the process of redesigning. I roam the area to make sure there is nothing around which holds water to breed mosquitoes and I also used to mow a stretch of grass past a former open lot.
