THERE WON’T BE any immediate name change for the Barbados Tridents in this year’s Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

That assurance came yesterday from new owner, Indian business magnate, Dr Vijay Mallya after the players’ draft at the Concorde Experience, to the east of the Grantley Adams International Airport in Christ Church.

Mallya, who also owns the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, said it was a consideration after the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel changed their name to Trinbago Knight Riders after they were bought by his compatriot Venky Mysore.
