Windwards dismissed for 250 by Pride

BRIDGETOWN – Windward Islands Volcanoes, who won the toss and batted, were dismissed for 250 by Barbados Pride at the close of play on the opening day of their sixth round match in the WICB Regional Professional Cricket League first-class championship at Kensington Oval here Friday.

Andre Fletcher top-scored for the Volcanoes with 84, decorated with 16 fours off 144 balls in 172 minutes. He got good support from Kavem Hodge, who made 53 with five fours in 200 minutes off 185 balls while featuring in a fifth wicket partnership of 127 runs with Fletcher.

Fast bowler Miguel Cummins was the most successful bowler for Barbados Pride, capturing five for 47 in 16.2 overs but twice had the leave the field with an injured right leg.

Experienced left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn took the last three wickets for 65 runs off 28.1 overs. (EZS)
