Barbados Pride 78 for two at lunch

BRIDGETOWN – Barbados Pride, who won the toss and batted, were 78 for two against leaders Guyana Jaguars at lunch on the opening day of their seventh round top-of-the-table regional Professional Cricket League first-class match at Kensington Oval here Friday.

The not out batsmen are Shai Hope on 27 and Shamarh Brooks on seven.

The batsmen dismissed are openers Kyle Corbin and captain Kraigg Brathwaite for a “duck” and 40 respectively.

Corbin was bowled by fast bowler Keon Joseph while Brathwaite, who hit seven fours in his 51-ball knock, was caught by wicket-keeper Anthony Bramble off left-arm seamer Raymon Reifer.

Barbados Pride left out uncapped teenaged pacer Keon Harding and opener Omar Phillips from their 13-man squad while Guyana omitted their leading wicket-taker this season with 36 scalps in left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie and opener Robin Bacchus from their touring party. (EZS)
