Police seize 1 683 cannabis plants; one man charged

A PARISH LAND, St Philip man has been charged with four drug offences after police seized 106 plants at Vineyard in the same parish today.

Thirty-nine-year-old Adrian Juan Lorde appeared in the District “C” Magistrates’ Court accused of cultivation of cannabis, possession, possession with intent to supply and trafficking. He was remanded to prison until Friday.

The seizure was one of five made today as members of the Drug Squad , Tactical Response and Anti-Gun Units and Barbados Defence Force conducted illegal drug eradication operations in several areas.

A total of 1 683 cannabis plants were seized at Chalky Mount, St Andrew (841); Claybury, St John (65) and Church Village (331), Supers (430) and Vineyard, St Philip. (PR/NB)
