‘Cast postal net wider’
A CALL HAS BEEN MADE to review the selection process to fill vacancies in the Postal Service in order to widen the pool of potential employees.
It came from Acting Postmaster General Nigel Cobham, as he paid tribute to 16 retirees during a ceremony at a packed Almond Bay on Saturday night.
While lauding the sterling service totalling 565 years given by the 16, Cobham lamented the small pool which the Post Office had to wade through to find staff.
“The pool which is sent to us is not very large and too often the background of those candidates is not what we require, he said. (KB)
