JUST ONE YEAR SHORT of her century milestone, Rosalie Bailey has finally been allowed to rest in the comfort of her fully refurbished home.

At her Roxy Gap, Water Hall Land, Eagle Hall, St Michael home yesterday, the 99-year-old praised both Minister of Social Care Steve Blackett, and members of his ministry, for the work they had done over the last six weeks.

“May the Lord bless you all and keep you. I thank you for what you have done for me,” Bailey said as she grasped Blackett’s hand after receiving the keys to her $72 500 three-bedroom, one bathroom, concrete and wood house.

Blackett told the media he was raised in the area and had always known Bailey to be living on the spot, but in recent years her house had fallen into a state of disrepair.
