Call to invest in boys
THE INVESTMENTS made in boys will either come back to help the nation, or haunt it.
Reverend Lennox Boyce, chairman of the general assembly of the Church of God Reformation, made the point while delivering the sermon at the Barbados Boy Scouts Founder’s Day Service at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex yesterday to recognise 104 years of the scout movement in Barbados.
“These young boys will grow up to become men. They will become big brothers, husbands, fathers, leaders of families, and the investment that we make in them today will help us or haunt us tomorrow,” said the minister.
Making reference to Proverbs 6:22, Boyce urged scout leaders, parents as well as wider Barbados to “train up a child in the way he should go”. (LK)
