AFTER SEVEN hours of talks yesterday, players involved in the pay dispute at Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) Inc. will be back in discussion on Friday at 2 p.m. with Minister of Labour Dr Esther Byer-Suckoo.

But unlike last week Monday when the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) and management of GAIA met in the same conference room with Chief Labour Officer Vincent Burnett, there was no breakdown of talks.

When the meeting was eventually suspended around 5 p.m. yesterday, Byer-Suckoo told the media: “We have agreed that this matter bears further consideration and that there is some scope for us to re-examine and continue discussions on . . . . To my mind that is good news.”

She added they made some progress at the marathon session, but did not elaborate on the matters discussed.
