The once invincible Station Hill Cavs aren’t so unbeatable anymore, having slumped to their second successive loss via Tuesday’s humbling 79-71 defeat to a surging Hilton Barbados Warriors in the Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League at the Wildey Gym.
It didn’t bump them out of the league lead, but the result surely knocked Cavaliers off their perch after Station Hill had an air of impregnability while starting the year with nine straight wins, including six league victories.
And Warriors wasted no time opening that chink in the armour, turning a brisk 8-2 surge into a 30-19 advantage before leading by as many as 15 points (69-54) in the fourth quarter.
Warriors did eventually allow Cavs back in the game, casually turning over the ball, which led to treys from Anand Joseph-Thorne and Stephan Ottley and two easy Saeed Norville baskets (77-71).
