Cannabis plants seized in joint operation

MORE THAN 1200 CANNABIS plants were seized yesterday when the police force conducted a drug eradication exercise at various locations in Barbados.

Plants ranging from one to six feet were found in bushy areas, but no arrests were made.

The majority of the plants were discovered in St Joseph where 430 plants were seized at Joes River and 331 at Vaughns Land.

At Dayrells Hill, Christ Church, 306 plants were discovered and 204 at Carringtons, St Philip.

The exercise was conducted by the Drug Squad with the assistance of the Tactical Response Unit and members of the Barbados Defence Force. (PR/SAT)
