AUTHORITIES SNARED an estimated 44 people during the early hours of Saturday morning in a raid on an adult nightclub.

In the first bust of its kind for the year, the joint operation between police and the Immigration Department, several non-nationals were carted off from Club Master Entertainment on Spring Garden, Black Rock, St Michael, and later detained for questioning.

Sources said a number of the detainees were being held with a view to deporting them.

Police public relations officer, Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch, confirmed that around 2:30 a.m., about 29 foreign nationals, including Guyanese, Jamaicans and a Vincentian, were among those held. He, however, declined to give the reason for the operation or the status of the non-nationals since investigations were ongoing by immigration. (SDB Media/AC)
