IN A WORLD WHERE manners seem to be shoved under the carpet, Ellerslie Secondary School students have chosen to revisit practices of yesteryear for self-improvement.

And though the 19 students have come to the end of their training programme in partnership with the University of the West Indies Open Campus, they were today treated to more words of wisdom by campus principal Dr Luz Longsworth .

In the hall of the Black Rock, St Michael School surrounded by beaming parents and graduates of the Preparing Today for Tomorrow’s Challenges programme which included etiquette lessons, Longsworth told them to keep their eyes on their goals.

She explained that commitment is key in being successful and the participants were encouraged to delay gratification even though this generation wants most things now.

Longsworth told NATION ONLINE  they were looking into extending the programme to other secondary schools. (MR)
