POSTAL SERVICES IN Barbados and the rest of the region are looking to see how they can counter declining revenues from traditional mail through e-commerce.

Representatives from more than 40 countries are in Barbados for a three-day workshop, which got under way at the General Post Office at Cheapside this morning, to see how they can exploit the opportunities available.

Barbados’ Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite, who has responsibility for the local postal service, encouraged the gathering to look to the countries where e-commerce has taken off and made a difference to see what can be adopted. (YB)
