‘Wild’ shots
THE SINCERITY of the police’s motto “To protect, serve and reassure” is today being questioned by some Silver Hill, Christ Church residents after a policeman allegedly opened fire on a group of them.
Yesterday, dozens of residents vented their fury over what they deemed as an injustice by the Royal Barbados Police Force.
According to them, a group of men and women were sitting in a mechanic’s shop when a man burst into the shop brandishing a weapon and screaming, “Nobody move!”
The man, who was later discovered to be a plain-clothes policeman, inexplicably opened fire on the group, some said, forcing everyone to seek shelter, including a woman who was holding a child.
