A LIFETIME OF CONTINUOUS ABUSE was uncovered by lawmen yesterday morning after  a young man escaped from the chains that had kept him and a sibling bound for years.

Police moved in on a house in Happy Cot Land, Mansion Road, Bank Hall, St Michael, where  a 23-year-old man, who has special needs, was reportedly locked in a room inside by his father – an apparent ages-old custom.

His younger brother, who is 19, managed to free himself from the chains with which he had been bound and sought help from neighbours. It is understood that it was not the first time the teen had been restrained  in the house by his father.

“I was home and my mum told me my neighbour calling me. When I reached downstairs, she tell me the fella come to her with a cow chain and two padlocks on he foot, saying his father had him chain up and lock  up in the bedroom,” a neighbour said. (YB)
