Two charged following drug seizure off West Coast

TWO MEN HAVE been remanded to prison in connection with Monday’s seizure of more than 370 pounds of cannabis off the West Coast.

They are 40-year-old Copeland Arindale Browne of Brecon Road, Grazettes, St Michael and 27-year-old Vincentian national All-Dain Allendee Bristol.

Members of the Police Marine Unit and the Barbados Coast Guard conducted an operation three nautical miles off the West Coast and discovered 371.58 pounds of cannabis in eight bales on a speed boat. The two men on board were detained and the drugs and boat were seized.

Brown and Bristol appeared at the District “A” Magistrates’ Court today and were not required to plead to charges of possession, trafficking, possession with intent to supply and importation. They will reappear on April 14. (PR/NB)
