Discipline ‘key to success’

DISCIPLINE AND HARD WORK did the trick for Christ Church Foundation, this season’s powerhouse in high school track and field.

Physical edcuation teacher, Seibert Straughn, was full of praise for his charges, who ruled the roost in the girls’ competition and were second in the boys’ championship.

Foundation did what many thought was improbable when they overthrew ScotiaBank Springer Memorial to win the title while Lester Vaughan held off a strong challenge from Foundation and Queen’s College to retain their boys’ title.

“They were training from September up to now and I must thank the clubs because our success is not only about what we are doing at the school. The clubs have played a very important role in terms of helping to develop and shape our athletes,” said Straughn.
