THE BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY (BWA) and the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) are looking to Minister of Labour Senator Dr Esther Byer Suckoo to facilitate an end to their ongoing dispute.

And in what will be her second intervention in a public dispute in two weeks, Byer Suckoo will meet with the BWU contingent at 11 a.m. today to hear their complaint with the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) over the non-payment of increments owed from 2006.

That meeting will take place at Parliament Buildings, where the minister is participating in the Estimates Debate.

Her intervention comes on the fifth day of industrial action by workers, which has resulted in further problems for consumers across the country, some of whom have been suffering severe water outages for almost six months. (YB)
