Students dress for success

ABOUT 18 students at the all-girls St Ursula’s School traded in their plaid skirts and school shoes for business attire yesterday.

The exercise was a part of the school’s Finishing Touches Programme entitled Dress For Success and which offers final year students a taste of life after school.

To participate they were asked to dress for a job or university interview and to write requests to get reference letters. Yesterday at the compound of the Collymore Rock, St Michael school, the girls brought their prepared curricula vitae for the exercise and were judged on dress, speech and etiquette.

Head of Department Dr Glenda Niles said it was important for students to get this training in early because they would need the skills in the future. (TG)
