A  LOUD EXPLOSION at a home in St Thomas has left some residents in bewilderment.

However, what is worse is one of their very own, Daniel Jackson, was left nursing injuries to his feet after the blast went off around 9:30 last night in Forty Acres.

One resident who gave his name as Jerry, said he visited his long-time friend Jackson at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and he was in extreme pain.

“He was washing some peas and all of a sudden this thing happened. He had no idea what it was,” Jerry related.

“I just felt shocked and I feel for him to see him in that pain,” Jackson’s buddy said.

Jerry said his friend injured the lower part of his body including the insteps of his feet and his calves and he had a foot-long “burnout” with the skin peeling.

When contacted, Acting Assistant Superintendent of Police David Welch said the Royal Barbados Police Force will make an official statement later.
