High-five for trainer Cheeseman
TRIPLE defending champion trainer Victor Cheeseman is now firing on all cylinders after chalking up over $110 000 in earnings during the last two race days.
His victory last Saturday with Bills Inc.’s recent acquisition Super Lady, her second in succession, has catapulted Cheeseman to the head of the earnings list with $203 916, overtaking Robert Peirce on $196 655.
Cheeseman’s season got off to an unexpected start when Horse Of The Year Sirius Black (Kyle Carter up) won the feature Ronald and Richard Stoute Stakes And Trophy over 1 570 metres, only to be disqualified weeks later.
The act of removing part of the horse racing equipment was adjudged to be in breach of the Barbados Turf Club rules, which speak to equipment being worn by horses. It costs the connections the first-place purse of $34 100.
