$33 million not on table

A BARBADOS WATER Authority (BWA) proposal could be coming by the end of this week, but do not expect the $33 million to be paid.

That was the tune coming from Minister of Labour Esther Byer Suckoo yesterday as she called an impromptu Press conference to update members of the media about yesterday’s separate meeting with the BWA and the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU).

“Up to this point, I do not have a proposal in hand. I am hopeful that before the end of this week, that proposal will be in hand so that in a matter of days I can call the meeting,” Byer Suckoo said to the media.

As she stepped out of the Senate once again for what she deemed as an important meeting, Byer Suckoo said that while she would not go into the particular details, several things had become clear to her regarding this “complex” matter.
