Fish frenzy

AS BUSY AS the Bridgetown Fish Market along Princess Alice Highway was yesterday, vendors anticipate it will be much busier today.

Easter has come around again and Barbadians are preparing for the typical fish meal for Good Friday tomorrow. As such, fish markets across the island are making high sales. Even so, the day started slowly.

“People are buying flying fish, dolphin, marlin and tarpon but it ain’t selling that fast. I was here from since morning but people now coming in because they must be at lunch,” said a young man who was helping his mother sell fish.

True to his word, some people were in various uniforms and were seen hurrying away after completing their purchase. (CA)
