Pedestrian injured in accident

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING a serious accident which occurred yesterday around 6:45 p.m. on the Barrow Section of the ABC Highway in the area of the roundabout near to the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic.

It involved a car driven by 54-year-old Garth Patterson of Fort George Heights, St Michael and 60-year-old pedestrian Delcina Mayers of Rock Close Wildey, St Michael.

Mayers was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance after she complained of pains about her body. Information later received indicated that she suffered a broken leg.

The mentioned section of the highway was closed temporary to investigate the accident. (PR/NB)
