Titus setting record pace

DANIELLE TITUS helped herself to another record while Barbados are eyeing one of their own.

The ultramarine and gold are halfway there to their best ever medal tally at a CARIFTA Swimming Championships, having picked up 13 more on Wednesday to bring the overall haul to 26 in just two nights at the ongoing meet in Martinique.

Led by Titus’ record-setting gold medal performance in the 100 metres backstroke, Team Barbados picked up five gold, two silver and six bronze medals to improve those respective tallies to eight, eight and ten.

It has the Bajans on track to match last year’s 52-medal showing at home, and possibly even surpass the country’s record haul of 53 set in Guadeloupe back in 1998. (JM)
