Spotlight on Williams

ALL EYES WILL BE ON Sada Williams this weekend when the Flow CARIFTA Games begins today in Grenada.

Barbados will be represented by a 32-strong team and Williams is by and large one of our biggest medal prospects. At last year’s Games in St Kitts, Barbados won 16 medals (seven gold, four silver, five bronze).

Williams will make her presence felt at the Games this morning around 10:20 when the preliminaries of the Under-20 Girls’ 400 metres are held.

Williams has run a season’s best of 53.13 seconds in this event but is capable of running much faster. This was proven last year when she came back from injury to run a personal best – and National Junior record time – 52.39 seconds at the National Championships.
