Sandals brings positive JetBlue spin-off

LAST YEAR’S OPENING of international hotel brand Sandals Resort in Barbados has led to a positive spin-off for JetBlue airlines.

General manager of JetBlue Barbados Terry Layne said the seats on flights out of Boston and New York had been filled by guests of the hotel with which the airline has a good relationship.

He was speaking yesterday as JetBlue Airways flight B6 25 from Logan International, Boston, touched down at the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA), leading to Barbados becoming the only international destination boasting two chartered premium flights from the airways. The first started out of the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.

Layne said the newly introduced New York mint flights, which provide business class passengers with beds and a wide selection of meals, have been performing well.
