ASHANTIA PHILLIPS made good on her goal to win a medal at the 2016 Flow CARIFTA Games at the Grenada Athletics Stadium when she won the Under-20 Girls’ high jump this morning.

Phillips won with 1.73 metres and fouled out while attempting a personal best 1.76 metres. She easily cleared all of her attempts up to that 1.76 metre mark and beat Jamaica’s Britny Kerr who also cleared 1.73 metres.

Rechelle Meade of Anguilla was third with 1.65 metres.

The Under-18 Boys’ Long Jump is still ongoing with Barbados’ Anderson Greaves and Ondre Callender competing.

Barbados’ medal tally is now 15 – four gold, five silver and six bronze medals. (PG)
