FIRST-DAY gold medalists Jonathan Jones and Sada Williams were once again the standouts yesterday for Barbados at the Flow CARIFTA Games at the Grenada National Stadium.

Williams, the firm favourite to win the Under-20 Girls’ 200 metres, was the top qualifier for tomorrow night’s final after she clocked 23.12 seconds.

It was an easy race for Williams, who shut off the gas about 15 metres from the finish line. The second fastest qualifier was the Bahamas’ Janae Ambrose who clocked 23.66 seconds. In the Under-20 Boys’ 200 metres preliminaries, Mario Burke finished second in 21.32 seconds in the second heat of the day. That race was won by Graham Coull of Antigua and Barbuda, who clocked 21.30 seconds.
