Khan: Probation needs help
MORE RESOURCES need to be allocated to the Probation Department.
That is the view of president of the Bar Association, Tariq Khan, who says the department needs more human resources.
“The probation office is severely understaffed, in my opinion. They have a massive task to undertake and to have that done properly resources have to put into that service.
“Not only for the purpose of court but to assist in the release of offenders, any type of offender, who has completed their sentence,” Khan said during a recent telephone interview.
The Bar Association president said an improvement in staffing could help prisoners’ quality of life post-release. (LT)
