BRIANNA HOLDER scored the final long-range shot to seal Barbados’ 29-12 victory over Bermuda when the Caribbean Netball Association Jean Pierre Under-16 Tournament continued last night at the Netball Stadium.

But that was just the final exclamation mark on a fantastic performance by the Christ Church Foundation student, who turned the tide in the second quarter and sparked Barbados’ best performance to date in the championships as they romped to three straight wins.

Holding only a slender four-goal lead (8-4) against previously unbeaten Bermuda, the decision to switch Holder from wing attack to goal attack saw the Barbados Gems with their two most productive quarters, scoring 12 in the second and 13 in the fourth.

A six-goal run at the start of the second allowed Barbados to open the game with a 20-9 half-time lead. (SAT)
