Homeless charity looking for home

THE ORGANISATION that helps those who are without a roof over their heads is trying to get Government to find a home for it.

Barbados Homeless and Vagrants Society (BHVS) president Kemar Saffrey made this known yesterday as he introduced the new board of directors of the charity at the office of Innotech Services in Warrens, St Michael.

While Saffrey spoke of the plans, new BHVS chairman Anthony Da Silva said that earlier this year the charity met with the Minister of Social Care Steve Blackett on the matter of finding a new home.

Da Silva added there were also plans to meet with Minister of Housing and Lands Denis Kellman and officials of the Ministry of Finance to pursue plans for a permanent place for the organisation. (AD)
