Lashley: Time for healing
MINISTER OF SPORT Stephen Lashley has acknowledged that there is “disquiet” in West Indies cricket and the time has come for healing and unity.
He made the call yesterday at a reception at the Grantley Adams International Airport where the all-conquering West Indies women World Twenty20 champions were given a rousing welcome by Government officials, and hundreds of adoring fans.
“I believe this is time to build West Indies cricket and that we should do everything possible to ensure that we build and not create environments where the building of West Indies cricket is not the number one priority.
“So I want to say again that as we seek to rebuild West Indies cricket that we put our collective energies forward,” said Lashley, speaking before an audience that included Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy, President of the Barbados Cricket Association Joel Garner, new BCA chief executive officer, Noel Lynch and nine-time calypso monarch Mighty Gabby.
