Cameron stands firm
West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president Wycliffe “Dave” Cameron says the people of the region come first and he will never do “anything to mash up regional cricket”.
In an exclusive interview with the SUNDAY SUN, the embattled president said there has been misleading information being fed to cricket fans across the Caribbean.
“I am not here to destroy the game. We just won three World titles and the feeling is, I want to mash it up. I can’t believe some of the criticism I am receiving. It is absurd. My heart is with the Caribbean 100 per cent. I am a Caribbean man. I am for the good of West Indies cricket,” said Cameron, who turned 46 on Friday.
Cameron, who became the WICB’s 18th president in 2013, and is now in his second term, said he was disappointed to hear that some people think he is arrogant.
