Call for more buses, better drivers

THREE MONTHS AFTER the introduction of the Transport Authority Service Integration (TASI) project on the Sturges route, commuters are calling for more buses and better driving.

Residents of the St Thomas district and surrounding communities, including MP for St Thomas Cynthia Forde, attended the second town hall meeting on the TASI project yesterday evening at the Holy Innocents Church in St Thomas.

Director of the Transport Authority, Alex Linton, admitted to challenges on the Sturges route, particularly on late at night and on Sundays, but said steps would be taken towards a smooth operation. The experiment of joint private and public service transport on the Edey Village, Christ Church route had fared better when compared to Sturges, he pointed out.
