Retiree hurt in fall on Walk
RUTH BYNOE DIDN’T bank on conducting her business on the boardwalk but fate made it so.
The retiree was thrown into pain yesterday, when a trip into Bridgetown to conduct a financial transaction was turned upside down, after she tripped on a loose wooden plank on the Wickham and Lewis Boardwalk along the Careenage, causing her to fall and injure her knee.
Yesterday’s accident led cab drivers and pedestrians in the area to call for the Barbados Port Incorporated to pay more attention to maintenance and general upkeep of the boardwalk.
“I was walking and then suddenly I was falling. It was a very frightening feeling,” Bynoe told the WEEKEND NATION, as she winced in pain while waiting to be transported to a doctor for medical attention. (BA)
