Man charged in theft of cassava

POLICE HAVE ARRESTED and charged Henderson Sylvester Burgess in relation to the theft of 15 pounds of cassava belonging to Carrington Estates Ltd.

Burgess, 40, who is homeless, was spotted by police walking along Halton Road, St Philip, around 12:20 a.m. last Thursday with a bag containing produce.

He was stopped and the cassava was discovered in the bag.

Burgess is expected to appear at the District C Magistrates Court on Monday. (PR/SAT)
