Bajans find going tough
BARBADIAN players found the going tough in the opening session of the Sub-Zonal Chess Championships yesterday.
Competing against rivals from nine other countries in the Caribbean, the host country managed four wins in 14 games on the men’s tables and a solitary victory in eight games on the women’s side.
Among the men tasting victory were International Masters Terry Farley and Kevin Denny, both of whom have been missing from local competitions in recent times.
Farley defeated Jose Colina of Venezuala while Denny won against Leonard Duncan of Trinidad and Tobago. (HG)
