A BUSINESSMAN in The City is seeking legal advice regarding the Barbados Water Authority’s (BWA) ongoing work along Roebuck Street.

Ryan Thorpe, owner and operator of MumTaz Deli, said he was owed compensation for loss of earnings during the period of the construction to place a new water system in the area.

“I opened in 2013 and business was okay but since the construction started, sales drop by as much as 70 per cent – customers say they don’t want to deal with the dust while others are afraid of the equipment – and once customers settle someplace else, there is no way to get them back,” he said.
