Broomes: No politics for me

HE WILL not be throwing his hat in any political ring any time ever.

This was the strong declaration from retiring principal of the Parkinson Memorial School, Jeff Broomes, yesterday as he prepared to end a 40-year career in the teaching service in June this year.

But those he is leaving behind at The Pine, St Michael school want him to stay on for another year. In any event, they plan to nominate him for a national award in this year’s Independence honours list.

Broomes yesterday was treated like a king as he leaves the school of which he has been head for three years.
